Iloilo Challenge: The first lifestyle intercollegiate adventure race
The JCIP Iloilo (formerly known as Iloilo Jaycess, Inc.), an affiliate of the Junior Chamber of the Philippines and of the Junior Chamber International, is a non-profit leadership training organization of young men from various professions, which aims to develop and enhance the leadership skills of its members through various socio-economic activities. This year, the JCIP Iloilo and the Department of Tourism Region VI will join forces in bringing the popular amazing race mania to Iloilo City by spearheading a first-of-its-kind race challenge dubbed 'Iloilo Challenge:The first Intercollegiate Adventure Race' On Nov 12, 2005.
This noble project aimed at showcasing Iloilo and Guimaras majestic and historical sights that abound the Province's colorful experience and tradition. The race promises to thrill the participants with exhilarating challenges at the same time experience the scintillating sights of the beautiful plazas, landmark and beaches where the sand, sea and sky provide comfort and relaxation. During the race and varied activities, the participants may create linkage and camaraderie with various participating colleges and universities in Iloilo, Antique, Roxas, Bacolod, Guimaras, and Aklan. The event guarantees the contestants with fun, learning, physical and mental challenges. The race is expecting to attract 30 participating colleges and universities and universities in Iloilo City and other provinces of two members per team. The event will also be working with various government agencies and private institutions.
The race will include treasure hunt at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Ground, go fishing at Lapaz Plaza, tour to Pavia with the magnificent Saraw, play your best sport in Pavia, hunt your Gold Ticket at Jaro Plaza and win Winners Gym gift certificates (1st elimination of top 15), sail through the scenic Guimaras Strait, pick the sweetest mango in the world in Guimaras Mango Orchard-Oro Verde, climb for your flag of triumph (2nd elimination-Top 10), run and savor the good food and scintillating sunset at Villa by the sea, and finally, do charity work, dine and celebrate the glory at SM City.
The champion will receive P15,000 in cash, first runner-up-P8,000 and second runner up will get P5,000, plus individual medal, gift packs, Certificate of Participation and trophy for the school. There will also be consolation prizes.
The awarding ceremony and Street Party will be held on November 12, 2005, 8pm at Pier 16, Diversion Road.
