I’m not superman but I’ll do my best – Celino
ROXAS CITY – “My name is Alan, not Superman,” said Mayor Alan Celino but he said he will do what he has to do as the city’s chief executive.
This was pointed out by Celino, during a thanksgiving mass held at the ground of Roxas City Hall on July 1, as the mayor acknowledged that he could
not solve all the problems of the city.
He told the city government employees that he will do everything to bring change in their working situation. If the budget would allow it, extra benefits may be given to the employees, he said.
The mayor also called on the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod to serve the people well.
“To those members of the (SP) who are usually not attending to their duties, I’ll be watching you. However, I challenge you also to watch over me, how I work, and report it to the people, so as the people may know what we are doing here at the City Hall,” Celino said.
Before his speech, Celino and Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas exchanged sign pens with each other as a sign of their commitment to serve the city.
HOPEFUL
Meanwhile, Ruth Japitana, a sidewalk vendor along Burgos Street, said she is hopeful that Celino will fulfill his campaign promise especially on generating more jobs for the poor and providing free medicines.
