Tindahan Natin serves 118,145 families in WV
Around 118, 145 families from Western Visayas have benefited from the government’s Tindahan Natin (TN) project, which is jointly implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Food Authority (NFA).
During the Tindahan Natin project inter-agency meeting held here recently disclosed that around 1,038 Tindahan Natin Outlets (TNOs) have been accredited in the region but only 1,014 are active.
The active TNOs are in Negros Occidental with 432 followed by Iloilo with 298; Capiz, 178; Aklan, 53; Antique, 48 and five in Guimaras province.
The families served are in Negros Occidental with 51, 357 followed by Iloilo with 29,856; Capiz, 22,738; Antique, 9,225; Aklan, 4,629 and Guimaras 340.
Discussed in the meeting was the TNOs that failed to beat the deadline for the re-accreditation which maybe recommended by the DSWD to the NFA for Bigasan sa Barangay Outlet (BBO).
The TN project was conceptualized to address poverty incidence among poorest of the poor by selling low-priced but with good quality rice, noodles and sardines. (PNA)
