Globe & Taiwan Mobile launch the new YES IDD Card in Taiwan via free concert
Globe Telecom, the pioneer network operator in providing services for Filipinos abroad and Taiwan's leading telco provider Taiwan Mobile recently launched its newest offering—the YES IDD Calling Card in Taiwan via a free concert held at the Taoyuan County Covered Stadium.
Entitled 'OK Ka, Kababayan!, the jam-packed concert held in cooperation with the Manila Economic Cultural Office (MECO) in Taiwan and the Taoyuan Government also celebrated the third year anniversary of Globe and Taiwan Mobile's first offering for overseas Pinoys in Taiwan, the OK Kababayan SIM. The whole-day event was attended by approximately four thousand overseas Filipinos who were delighted to see the performances of top Filipino talents like Christian Bautista, Jolina Magdangal, Tuesday Vargas, and the band Rivermaya.
Also present in the event were MECO and the Taoyuan Government officials including Ambassador Antonio Basilio, Labor Attache Rodolfo Sabulao, and Taoyuan County Magistrate Liluan Eric Chu.
With the affordable rates offered by both the YES IDD Card and OK Kababayan SIM, OFWs have more reasons to stay connected to their loved ones in the Philippines who are using Globe and TM. With the YES IDD Card, an OFW can enjoy as much as 65 minutes for calls to Globe & TM. Meanwhile, the OK! Kababayan SIM offers international text messaging to Globe and TM subscribers in the Philippines for only NT$1 per text and offers IDD calls for only NT$4.50 per minute.
Attendees were also given Globe premium giveaways during the event. There was also a raffle where OFWs had a chance to win premium prizes like Philips DVD Players and Nokia handsets courtesy of Duty Free Philippines.
MECO Ambassador Antonio Basilio in his message lauded the efforts of Globe and Taiwan Mobile to provide inexpensive call rates for OFWs. "Before OFWs used to spend around 10-15 percent of their monthly income on phone calls, but now with the help of Globe and Taiwan Mobile, our 'kababayans' can now easily call their loved ones at very affordable rates."
This commitment was echoed by Globe Overseas Filipino Communities (OFC) Segment Business Head, Alan C. Supnet. "Globe and Taiwan Mobile will continue to find ways to provide our kababayans with excellent & affordable calling services; this is our commitment to enable close connection for the OFW families despite the distance between them."
