Gov signs lease of NOBDC to Capgem
BACOLOD CITY -- Gov. Isidro P. Zayco signed a memorandum of agreement with the Capitol Government Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative represented by chairman Lawrence Ledesma for the operation and management of the Negros Occidental Barangay Center (NOBC) presently operated and managed by the Provincial Tourism Center under the Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD).
Under the MOA, CAPGEM shall operate and manage the NOBC Hostel and Montelibano Hall as a low-cost pension house and cooperative training center.
It will pay the Provincial Government monthly lease rentals of P20, 000 and P40, 000 for the first 24 months and the succeeding 12 months, respectively with a five percent escalation annually thereafter, for a maximum period of 10 years.
Aside from serving as a training facility NOBC will be also a venue for other worthwhile endeavors in support not only of the cooperatives activities but also of the provincial governments programs and advocacies on livelihood development, cooperation, people empowerment and the environment.
Present during the signing were Executive Assistant Jonathan Lobaton, CAPGEM Manager Nestor Padilla and Recreation & Welfare Services Officer/CAPGEM Vice Chairman Ian De Ramos in the presence of Marie Therese Sespeñe, Lemuel Salido, Erwin Liboon, Ronnie Almoneda and Leo Galvez as witnesses.
