City reduces X'mas party budget from P.5M to P350T
From P500,000 the budget for the Christmas party of City Hall employees has been reduced to P350,000.
The city government backed off from its original proposal after negative criticisms came out as regards the huge amount allocated for the Christmas party.
Aside from reducing the amount, the city would also conduct a bidding to look for the venue and caterer of the gathering.
A source at the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) said the bidding process is set on December 19, 2006 with only P350,000 budget. The budget for each person was decreased from P150 to P140 per head.
Earlier, it was reported that the City Hall Christmas party would be held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.
The budget was taken from the supplemental budget number 5 of the city amounting to P166,093,463.
With the bidding, the Christmas party of the employees is "tentatively set" on December 29, 2006. The source added that they have no idea yet on what hotels and caterers will join the bidding. Though, the source said the bidding is only for documentation purposes.
