Loren Legarda to grace Antique's Binirayan

Former Senator and Vice Presidential Candidate Loren Legarda-Leviste will grace the Binirayan Festival in the province of Antique on April 27-29, 2005. The annual event depicts the rich history and culture of the province.

Legarda whose mother is from Pandan, Antique is expected to arrive in the province on April 28 to be the guest of honor during the Parada ng Lahi . The Parada ng Lahi or Antique Pride Parade is a showcase of the province's cultural wealth and human resources, unfolding like a moving diorama of Antique's history, cultural and tourist interests, and natural wonders. This will be depicted through costumes that tell a story, mascots, street theater and floats.

In the evening Senator Legarda shall attend the Lin-ay kang Antique Coronation night at 8:00 pm at the EBJ Freedom Park.

Antiqueños are expected to warmly welcome Former Senator Legarda, the way they have welcomed her during her previous visits in the province. In her past visits, she has emphasized her pride as an Antiqueña. In one of her visits, she has announced, “I am very proud that my root stemmed from here (Antique)”.

During her stint as public servant, Antique were recipients of various projects she personally facilitated. No wonder why Antiqueños expressed their appreciation in the last election.
