NKTI holds urinalysis gab for doctors in Capiz, Aklan
ROXAS CITY – The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) yesterday held a seminar on urinalysis here.
The seminar, attended by the chiefs of hospitals, and city and municipal health officers from Capiz and Aklan, was part of the activities of the Renal Disease Control Program (REDCOP) of NKTI.
The discussion focused on maximizing the utility of a basic tool for diagnosis and prevention of kidney diseases.
Dr. Marie Angeline Gumba tackled the basic anatomy and urinalysis while Dr. Arlene Muñoz discussed the approach to the diagnosis of kidney diseases: the 10 renal syndromes and the 10 clinical syndromes in nephrology.
The will also be held in Bacolod City and in Iloilo as a partnership effort of the NKTI, Department of Health, Philippine Society of Nephrology and the Philippine Information Agency.
The Renal Disease Control Program (REDCOP) is the office in-charge in implementing the NKTI’s public health projects on the prevention and control of renal and other related diseases.
It also plans, implements and monitors projects for research, advocacy, training, service and quality assurance. REDCOP’s activities are done mostly on a national scale through its network of Regional Coordinators throughout the country.*PIA
