Gold Award
Meanwhile, Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said in his Facebook account the “Gold Award for our Iloilo River is a manifestation that we, the Ilonggos should take good care of our river.”
He added: “It has given our ancestors life, it is giving us life, it will give life to our children, and our children’s children. Blessed are we who have the abundance of the river, while others don’t. All we have to do is to rehabilitate, preserve and protect it.”
Mabilog, who is still in the US, gave a presentation on the Iloilo River Development Project before the announcement of the awardees.*with reports from PNA
