Marine recruits wanted
The Philippine Marine Corps is looking for applicants who want to be part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ premier force in readiness and the nation’s force of choice.
PMC officials yesterday visited the office of Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. to request the governor’s help and support for the program.
The qualifications for officer position are: Single, 21 to 28 years old, Filipino citizen, at least 5’4” in height, and baccalaureate degree holder.
For candidate soldier, the qualifications are: Single, 18 to 23 years old, Filipino citizen, at least 5’4” in height, high school graduate with technical/vocational skills or with 72 units in college.
The initial requirements are birth certificate, high school/college diploma, TESDA certificate of completion for applicants without 72 units in college, transcript of records and 4 pcs. 2x2 colored picture with white background.
Every candidate soldier shall receive a basic pay and other allowances of P11,988.00 upon taking oath and while still on training. Upon graduation, he gets the initial rank of a private and eventually covered with other pay and allowances of a regular Marine.
Once qualified for training as an officer or while on training as a probationary officer, a qualified volunteer shall receive P23,290.30.
