Task Group Baldomero formed
The Police Regional Office 6 has formed a Special Investigation Task Group to look into the killing of Fernando Baldomero, a councilor of Lezo, Aklan.
Baldomero, also the provincial chairperson of Bayan Muna in Aklan, was gunned down in front of his house in Brgy Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan early Monday morning.
Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr., police regional director, has designated Supt. Epifanio Bragais Jr., Aklan police provincial director, to head the SITG, the Police Regional Office 6 said yesterday.
The police team will look into all angles of the Baldomero murder.
Pagdilao said the Baldomero case, the first killing involving an elected official under the Aquino administration, is the first challenge to his leadership as the newly-installed regional police chief.
“I will closely monitor the investigation and see to it that we get results the soonest possible time,” he said .
Other members of the SITG Baldomero are Chief Insp. Alden Lagradante, Kalibo police chief; Insp. Al Loren Bigay, officer-in-charge of Provincial Intelligence Branch; Senior Insp. Juffrey Ruzgal, officer-in-charge of Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Branch; Supt. Georby Manuel, chief of Provincial Crime Laboratory Office; and Senior Police Officer 4 Reynaldo Pacifico, chief of Criminal Investigation Detection Team.
They are joined by PO2 Nida Gregas of the Provincial Public Information Officer, and SPO2 Alex de Pedro and PO1 Don Briones, for the secretariat.
