Signing ceremony with incoming NOSP scholars held
Gov. Isidro P. Zayco signed the scholarship agreement with the grantees of the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) in a ceremony held at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center, yesterday, with a total of 111 scholars from all over the province.
The scholars belong to the categories of District Educational Scholarship (DES), Negros Occ. Provincial Medical and Nursing Scholarship (NOPMaNS), Pagka-on Scholarship, Vocational/Technical and Indigenous Peoples Scholarship, and Provincial Educational Assistance for Capitol Employees (PEACE) Scholarship.
They have undergone series of examinations and interviews conducted by the scholarship committee before they were qualified and granted the scholarships.
Second District Board Member Miller V. Serondo, chairman of the SP Committee on Education, lauded the scholars and advised them to do well in their studies.
The batch 2010 graduates with honors were also recognized and awarded with certificates of recognition and cash incentives.
The scholarship coordinators are Maryver Cordova for the DES; Cheryl Siana for the NOPMaNS, Yolanda Bimbao for the Pagkaon Scholarship, and Evijane Vinas for the VocTech Scholarship while Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Virginia Parreno heads the Scholarship Committee Secretariat.
Also present in the activity were 4th District Board Member Mae Javellana, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Marlin Sanogal, and other members of the scholarship committee.
