PESO registers 855 jobseekers for employment abroad in January
The Bacolod City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) registered 855 jobseekers abroad for the first month of 2010.
According to the record of the PESO, there are 572 male and 283 female applicants. Nine principals were present: GV MLT Manpower Services Inc.; Skills Int’l Company; Mori Int’l Agency; Network Management Resources Corp.; Davis Int’l Recruitment Agency; SK Manpower Consultant; Peridot Int’l Resources; Pisces Int’l Placement; and Lead Resources Management Corp.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that the city is always helping constituents by providing more opportunities for those who wish to work abroad.
Mayor Bing also said that the city has been recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for being the Top Regional Performer (Reg. 6) and earned the nomination for the 2009 National Best PESO Award in Highly Urbanized City category.
“This year, we may top the National PESO Award in the category of Highly Urbanized City, and of course this is through the active efforts of our PESO personnel and the active participation of the Bacoleños”, the mayor added.
PESO head, Moises S. Dela Cruz said that these nine agencies are looking for skilled workers. In fact, among those 855 applicants, were domestic helpers and nurses and mostly carpenters and welders.
Mr. Dela Cruz also said that these applicants are still processing requirements for their application and need to undergo medical examinations and submit clearances.
Mayor Leonardia through the PESO is providing skills enhancement programs and TESDA trainings in order to help job seekers to work abroad.
