Police identify one of four suspects in pawnshop heist

From basag-kotse groups, local police authorities are now faced to solve another headache: the resurgence of Acetylene Gang.

Yesterday morning, members of the Acetylene Gang made known of their presence by attacking a pawnshop along E. Lopez St., Brgy. Fatima, Jaro, Iloilo City.

Incidentally, the pawnshop is owned by no less than Rosalie Sarabia-Treñas, the wife of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Treñas assures Nabitasan fire victims of status quo

Residents who lost their houses in a fire recently in Brgy. Nabitasan, La Paz could still go back and rebuild their houses.

This was assured by Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas after no concrete decision was made by the Department of Education (DepEd), owner of the property where the burned houses stand, regarding the matter.

R. Sarabia Pawnshop, owned by the wife of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, was ransacked by members of the Acetylene Gang. Police said four suspects carted away all of the jewelries pawned in the said establishment.

PNP on alert for Jaro fiesta

Local police declared heightened alert as Jaro district celebrates its annual fiesta today, February 2.

Jaro Police Station commander Chief Insp. Orly Gabinete said that they have already deployed all of their personnel for the celebration.
