Neg. Occ. Coop Day celebrated
Close to 4,000 cooperative leaders and members gathered at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Cooperative Gym, Saturday, to celebrate the Provincial Cooperative Day spearheaded by the Negros Occidental Cooperative Development Council (NOCDC) in line with the celebration of the Provincial Cooperative Month.
Gov. Isidro P. Zayco graced the occasion and thanked all the delegates for their heartwarming presence and enthusiastic participation.
In his message, Zayco affirmed that the cooperatives in the province are very much alive due to the active participation of local cooperative members which signifies a good economy.
He also lauded the contribution of local cooperatives in providing its members a good living condition and challenged the leaders to strengthen and maximize the cooperative’s potentials.
Third District Board Member and SP Committee Chair on Trade, Commerce and Industry Patrick S. Lacson, supported the message of Gov. Zayco and announced that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is finalizing the Investment Code of the province to further strengthen the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
SP Committee Chairman on Cooperatives and Sixth District Board Member Adolfo T. Mangao Sr. thanked the governor for his continued support to the cooperatives’ endeavors and challenged all the members to ‘keep the fire burning throughout the years’.
Also present during the activity were Cadiz City Vice Mayor Samson C. Mirhan, Provincial Consultant Nestor Bayona, TLDC Chairman on Management Committee Ike M. Barredo, Provincial Cooperative Officer Adolfo G. Gilpo and Ernesto Pineda, Executive Assistant to Mayor Evelio Leonardia. (Capitol News)
