Record from the region's health department showed that there are now 75 individuals here in Western Visayas considered as persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The data however covers from the period beginning year 1994 up to March this year.

A closure order and a padlock can be seen at the main gate of Pirates Restobar in Diversion Road, Iloilo City. Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) under its “Oplan Kandado” program padlocked the said establishment the other day for failure to declare its actual income and pay the required taxes.
