Provider apologizes for delayed telecast of Pacquiao-Hatton fight
BACOLOD CITY -- Champion Box Enterprise (CBE) which was supposed to provide a live feed of the Pacquiao-Hatton fight at the Bacolod Bays Center and six other venues last Sunday conveyed their apology to the public for their failure to provide a live showing of the much-awaited boxing match.
Junelo P. Castillo, Managing Supervisor of CBE which is a regular client of the City Government of Bacolod, every time Manny Pacquiao has a fight in Las Vegas, Nevada, expressed their apology for the event that was expected to be viewed through a pay-per-view system but failed due to a technical problem.
Castillo said that their company will refund all those clients that had applied for a live telecast last Sunday.
"We, Champion Box Enterprise apologize for the event that was expected to be viewed through a pay-per-view system through several locations of our respective clients. First, we cover all the responsibilities regarding the fault of having a grave problem from respective areas that we set-up our equipment for the Pacquiao fight. We had a finding from the provider that the problem could be caused by sabotage by either competing parties," part of the company's letter of apology released yesterday reads.
Earlier, Executive Assistant IV Butch Soliguen announced that the city government will provide a free live telecast of the boxing match in barangays Tangub, Alijis, Handumanan, Granada, Banago, Mansilingan and the Bacolod Bays Center.
On the other hand, Acting City Legal Officer Atty. Vicente Petierre Jr. is now studying the justification made by the Champion Box Enterprise. Petierre said that he will ask for damages against said entity if they could not convince the city government as to their justification and explanation. He said that the city government has already made a partial payment for the live telecast of Pacman-Hatton fight.
