Gov. Zayco reviews P1.3B 2009 budget
BACOLOD CITY – Gov. Isidro Zayco is now on the process of reviewing the proposed 2009 Negros Occidental provincial government budget amounting to P1,377,564,400 or an increase by P227 million compared to P1.1 billion in 2007.
The governor said he received the copy and assured the Sangguniang Panlalawigan that he will submit it before the deadline set by law which is October 16.
"The 227 million additional allocations would mean additional services and projects for the Negrense," Zayco said.
In a copy furnished to The News Today, most of P1.3 billion budget will be taken from the Internal Revenue Allotment share of the province with an estimate of P1,259,570; P101 million from projected local income and P16 million from back IRA.
The non-office appropriations has the highest allocation P826.8 million; Provincial Engineer's Office with P93.2 million while health services have P38.5 million.
The Gender and Development (GAD) Programs has 63.5 million budget. These include Nutrition and Health - P28.5 million; Scholarship Programs - P17 million; Housing and Squatters Program – P9.7 million; Social Welfare and Development Programs - P3.7 million; and Economic Enterprise - P403,873,815.
Other details of the budget are Governor's Office - P22.7 million; Vice Governor's Office and Sanggunian Panlalawigan with P43.4 million; Provincial Jail - P27.7 million; Agriculturist Office – P41.9 million; Environment and Management Office - P20.7 million;
Social Welfare and Development Office - P16.2 million; Provincial Legal Office - P7.2 million; Veterinarian's Office - P12.9 million; Cooperative Office - P6.2 million; Provincial Budget Office - P7.2 million; Assesor's Office - P12.5 million; Treasurer's Office – P 23 million; Administrator's Office - P15.8 million; Accountants Office - P12.9 million.
General Services Office - P35.6 million, Planning and Development Office P4.9 million; Human Resource Management – P4.9 million; Public Information Office - P3.3 million; Public Affairs Division - P4.4 million; Sports and Development - P3.7 million; Library - P1.6 million; Electronic Data Processing - P5.1 million; Park - P4 million; Disaster and Management Division - P4.1 million;
