Gov seeks approval of P66.4M Supplemental Budget
BACOLOD CITY -- Negros Occidental Governor Isidro Zayco has requested the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for a supplemental budget amounting to P66,474,238.66 to fund various projects of the provincial government.
Vice Governor Emilio Yulo III has already included the request for Supplemental Budget No. 7 in the agenda and he is positive that it will gain favorable action from the members of the Provincial Board.
Twenty two programs will be funded, using the Supplemental budget such as the Provincial Development Fund; Calamity Fund; Re-appropriation of programs and projects; various priority projects, among others.
Moreover, newly installed Board Member of the 5th District of Negros Occidental Enrique "Guding" Lacson has attended his first day of session yesterday.
He told the members of the provincial board that, "I am still adjusting to a life of a public servant and admittedly, this is an entirely different ball game. For one, I don't do speeches. Barongs are usually reserved for special occasions and writing is limited to business stuffs. In plain words, all these are foreign to me. But the moment I was given the chance to serve my district, I took that great leap of faith knowing fully well that along with the title of Board Member is an opportunity to change lives. And that's what matters most"
He added that it will take time for him to get adjusted being in the front line and in the public's eye. "And I will not even pretend that I will change into a great debater or legislator overnight. I know that it will require hard work and lots of patience to reach the same level that you are in right now," he said.
