Thousands join church-led rally vs. Reproductive Health bill

Around 10,000 Catholic faithful led by Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Archbishop Angel Lagdameo yesterday went to the streets here in the heightening show of protest of the Church against the Reproductive Health Bill pending in Congress.

Catholic schools deem RH bill as 'moral threat'

Various school administration heads, members of the faculty of Iloilo City's private Catholic schools enjoined students yesterday to get out of the classrooms and off to the city's streets.

Catholic faithful led by Jaro Archbishop and Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Msgr. Angel Lagdameo filled the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand yesterday to protest the passage of the Reproductive Health bills pending in Congress.

NFA assures damaged rice not sold in the market

The National Food Authority (NFA) has assured the public that the rice stocks inside their warehouse in Jaro that was soaked in flood waters during typhoon Frank are not being distributed and sold in the markets. As to date, NFA has disposed 90,000 bags of damaged rice.

DOH wants food vendors out of the NFA area

The Department of Health (DOH) recommends that all street vendors displaying their food stuff near the National Food Authority (NFA) compound in Jaro must be relocated. The foul smell coming from the decomposing rice stocks that were soaked in flood water attracts flies.

ILECO 1 to increase rate because of NPC's adjustment rate

The Iloilo Electric Cooperative (ILECO) 1 will be increasing its rate probably by next month because of the National Power Corporation (NPC) currency adjustment rate implemented also.
