ICPO leads 1st Qtr Performance Rating
"It's our sixth and still counting."
This, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) Director, Police Senior Superintendent Wesley A Barayuga said when asked of the results of the 2008 First Quarter Performance Evaluation Rating (PER) by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6.
The ICPO maintained its top post for six consecutive quarters since Barayuga assumed office as City Director.
The PRO 6 released the PER results last week. Tailing ICPO at number two is Aklan Police Provincial Office followed by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Iloilo Police Provincial Office, Bacolod City Police Office, Guimaras Police Provincial Office, Capiz Police Provincial Office, Antique Police Provincial Office, and 6th Regional Mobile Group.
The performance evaluation is being conducted every quarter to monitor and assess both the administrative and operational accomplishments of PPOs/CPOs and Regional Mobile Group. The evaluation covers personnel management, intelligence, operations and plans, logistical and finance management, and investigation management.
PRO 6 Director, Police Chief Superintendent Cuevas commended Barayuga for keeping the ICPO on the top post. "It must challenge other Police Units to do better," Cuevas said.
Meanwhile Cuevas also noted the improvement of IPPO which is now on fourth rank.
"Iloilo PPO is moving up fast, from sixth last quarter to fourth this quarter," Cuevas said adding that "PER is our barometer of Serbisyong Tama at Malinis". (F. Lindero Jr.)
