No mother should die giving birth
They did not come to dance for a child as most couples do before Obando's Sta Clara, but they danced all right to celebrate the Feast of Sto. Niño in this year's Dinagyang Festival with a wish that "No mother should die giving birth." Giving a fresh dimension to the "dancing ati" that symbolize the festival, the group added a dancing "ati" mother with her child to the icon to signify their call for "healthy mothers, healthy families." The dancing men and ladies belong to the Iloilo Technical Working Group for project AIM (Advocacy for Improved Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning), spearheaded by the City Government of Iloilo, Save the Children-US, and the David & Lucille Packard Foundation.
