Japanese experts here for traffic devt plan
Two Japanese traffic experts are here in the city for the capability training of the three-year traffic development plan for the Metro Iloilo Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC). The city will receive $500,000 assistance which is in form of technical support for its traffic development program.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said the Japanese nationals provided him copies of the three-year program dubbed as 'Capacity Enhancement Program' which has the formulation of a "Multi-Stakeholder Transport Planning and Traffic Management Improvement in MIGEDC" for its sub-project Monday.
Treñas said the two Japanese experts will oversee the capability training and implementation of the different process and procedures in relation to the creation of the traffic plan involving the MIGEDC members.
MIGEDC is composed of the municipalities of Oton, San Miguel, Pavia, Leganes, Sta. Barbara, province of Guimaras and Iloilo City.
The chief executive hopes the traffic problems in the city will be solved with the intervention and help of the Japanese experts. The final conceptualization of the traffic development plan will give solution to the transport problems especially with the impending operation of the Infante vehicular flyover.
