City dads pray harder for DOJ secretary's full recovery

Barangay captains from the city's 180 barangays gathered yesterday morning for a special unity prayer seeking full recovery of Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez Sr.

Initiated by the Association of Barangay Captains in Jaro District, a major turn-out was seen with the barangay chiefs similarly saying they came to pray even harder for the Secretary's health.

Zubiri pledges P1 M each to 43 Iloilo towns

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri has pledged to donate P1 million worth of projects for the 43 municipalities in the province of Iloilo. The donation is the senator's way of thanking the Ilonggos for their support last May 2007 senatorial election which made him in the top ten in the province.

Metro Bank Foundation will give P500,000 as donation to the 57/75 educational campaign to improve the performance rating of different elementary schools in the city. Initially, the donation will fund the program for the 10 public elementary schools here.
