Four volunteer search and rescue groups based in Iloilo boycotted yesterday's awarding ceremony of the 2007 Regional Gawad Kalasag held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.

Highlighting the achievements of the West Visayas State University for more than 100 years, the Centennial Exhibits at the Mall was held last July 23, 2007 at SM City Iloilo. Dr. Lourdes C. Arañador and Mr. and Mrs. Manrico Lataquin, distinguished alumni of the University opened the exhibits. Family collections of the Lataquins about WVSU are among those featured in the exhibits.
