Capiz registers 407 new SME investors so far
Roxas City --- A total investment of P86,123,778 has been recorded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Capiz from at least 407 new Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) businesses as of May 30 this year.
"The new investments have generated more than 1,000 employment for Capiceños," said DTI --- Capiz Public Information Officer Ken Queenie Cuñada.
The statistics adds on to the existing SMEs registered by the DTI which renewed their respective enterprises after its expiration.
The province strength and structure of economy suitable for business ventures include vast fertile areas for agri-aqua marine production; presence of potential tourism spots like beaches, caves, falls, historical and ancestral places; presence of long coastal areas teemed with angel wings, shells, and Kapis shells; and large plantation of coconut, sugarcane and bamboo, among others.
The promotion of Capiz for would be investors concurred with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's call for more investors as she urged the foreign and local business communities to join hands with the government in building a stronger and better Philippines.
"The short answer to continuing economic growth is summed up in three words: invest, invest, invest," the President said in her keynote address at the 2nd Annual Philippine Investment Conference in Cebu.
The conference was attended by 400 participants composed of a cross-section of the country's leading corporations, policy leaders and key international and domestic investors.
The President explained that improved economic figures would not make her administration complacent. On the contrary, the government would strive and redouble its efforts to sustain the country's gains and ensure that long-term prosperity is finally achieved.
