Nurses' review classes registration ends today
Nurses licensed under the June 2006 Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) who want to participate in the special review classes to be conducted in preparation for the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) initiated special voluntary re-take examination, have only until 5:00 p.m. today, April 4 to register.
In Western Visayas, the schools that have been selected to conduct these review classes are St. Paul College (SPC) - Iloilo and West Visayas State University (WVSU)- Iloilo. Recently, the DOLE announced that review classes will also be given at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod City to be conducted by Siliman University.
The schedule of special review classes in the region are as follows: in SPC -Iloilo it will be on April 23-29, April 30-May 6, May 7-13 and May 21-27; in WVSU on May 21-27; and in USLS on April 23-29.
In a press report, Labor and Employment Secretary Arturo Brion said that due to lack of enrollees some review classes have been cancelled while there are also review class schedules that have been closed because they were already full and could no longer accommodate reviewees.
Brion advised those registrants with unconfirmed enrollment to check the status of their enrollment online at www.specialnursingreview.dole.gov.ph. This is to find out if their preferred review classes have been cancelled, and if so, to re-enroll at available class schedules using Change Schedule option in the website. Also, posted in the website are the available class schedules.
According to DOLE after the close of registration, re-enrollment of unconfirmed registrants shall continue until they are assigned to available review classes.
The special review classes will cover topics included in Tests III and V of the June 2006 NLE.
Through Executive Order No. 609, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has allocated P20 million fund to be used for this special review program. (PIA)
