IOPC starts paying oil spill claimants in city

The International Oil Pollution Compensation (IOPC) Fund has started paying nearly P3 million to residents of Iloilo City affected by last year's oil spill in Guimaras.

Comelec to renew drive on illegal campaign materials

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Regional Director Renato Magbutay said they will once again start its drive against illegally posted campaign materials as the campaign period for local positions starts today.

LTFRB warns operators vs. excessive campaign ads on public utility vehicles

Operators of various public transport such as jeepneys, tricycles, taxis, vans and buses plying city and provincial streets are warned against wanton and excessive display of campaign paraphernalia.

While stickers and small-sized flyers and posters are allowed, Regional Director Porferio Clavel of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) cautions operators saying that a limitation has been set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).


LCP seeks TRO vs plebiscite for approval of new cities
