No takers for demolition works on old City Hall

It seems no contractor is interested to demolish the old Iloilo City Hall building.

City Mayor Jerry Treñas yesterday confirmed that nobody posted their bids for the demolition of the old City Hall building having a bid price of P900,000.

Guimaras attorney seeks reversal of ruling junking case vs. Petron

The municipality of Nueva Valencia in Guimaras on Tuesday appealed the dismissal of the complaint against officials of Petron Corp. and owners of the MT Solar I in connection with last year's massive oil spill in Guimaras.

Few oil left inside vessel's tanks

Last year's sinking of the MT Solar I caused the spilling of at least 1.6 million liters of bunker based on the remaining cargo found in an ongoing oil recovery operation, said the spokesperson of the regional Task Force Solar I Oil Spill (TF SOS).
