NPA admits killing RPA-ABB officer

The Napoleon Tumagtang Command of the New People's Army (NPA) based in Southern Panay admitted the killing of Jose Cabunagan a.k.a "Ka Arce", commanding officer of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB), Thursday last week.

City fire probers has yet to determine cause of Compania fire

It will take two to three weeks for the Iloilo City Fire Office to determine the cause of fire which killed a three-year old boy Monday morning at Barangay Compania Central, Molo district. Fire investigators estimated the damaged to property to P500,000.

Super Ferry 9 suffers engine trouble

Super Ferry 9 of Aboitiz Shipping experienced an engine trouble off Daog Point, west of Negros Occidental which prompted the management to call for assistance from it other ship, Super Ferry 1, where passengers were transferred then brought to Iloilo City.

A fishermen is still missing after his boat capsized off the waters of Higantes Sur in Isla de Higantes, Carles town early dawn Monday. He is believed to be washed ashore in Roxas or Bantayan Island.

An enchanting Highland Wedding

It was a wedding done near the heavens, as Caroline Dizon and Atty. Mark Gorriceta completed their pledges to be one forever in the most romantic of all places -- the highlands of Tagaytay.

The bride Carry, daughter of Manuel and Leovigilda Dizon and the groom Mark, son of the late Mayor of Pavia, Felix Gorriceta, Jr. and Dr. Sandra Sarabia Gomez, were united in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Tagaytay City recently.

The Nude

In lieu of the National Arts Month celebration, the University of the Philippines in the Visayas Chancellor's Committee on Culture and the Arts supported a sultry art exhibit dubbed as The Nude. The exhibit tackles the most-admired of all subjects -- the unclothed human figure. The Nude was born out of the collaboration of 28 prolific Ilonggo artists who individually interpreted the beauty that lies within every being by giving vivid details on soft curves and bold lines.
