Political will needed to clean Villa beach

Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Edwin Trompeta said "political will" is needed to clean the six kilometers of black sand beach in Villa district. He issued such statement in the recent launching of the 35th Paraw Regatta slated this coming February 18.

Ombudsman starts probe on Capitol assault

Now, it is the Ombudsman that is conducting an investigation on the manner by which its order was implemented.

A task force from the office of the Ombudsman Visayas led by Overall Deputy Ombudsman Orlando Casimiro yesterday started the inquiry on the January 17, 2007 assault of the Capitol by heavily armed policemen.

In celebration of the National Arts Month, 28 Ilonggo artists have banded together for a group exhibit titled The Nude at the UPV Art Gallery, Iloilo City. The exhibit, from February 15 through March 2, 2007, includes paintings and sculptures and presents the Ilonggo artists' interpretation of the concept of nudity and their views on the human body as art subject.
