Liberiaga assured of her kitty fund
It's confirmed. Multi-millionaire Mark Jimenez will bankroll the congressional candidacy of City Councilor Erlinda Liberiaga this coming May 14 elections.
In an interview, Liberiaga said she was assured by Jimenez in last Tuesday's meeting in Manila of the latter's support for her. She, however, did not say how much Jimenez would allot for her campaign kitty. She will run under Aksyon Demokratiko vice incumbent Representative Raul Gonzalez Jr. Liberiaga said, they will still scout for some other candidates to run under the Aksyon Demokratiko, the political party of the late Senator Raul Roco.
The political party will make public their entire slate before the end of February. Liberiaga said the candidate who will join with the group must be sincere. They should not only join the group not because of the campaign money. They are still on the process of negotiating with other wannabes in the city for various positions.
When asked why Jimenez picked her over the number of politicians in the city, Liberiaga said it was Jimenez's group who recommended her. The congressman sent his staff to Iloilo to look for a candidate who is a good match against Raul Jr.
A candidate is chosen by several factors, his or her winnability and Godly preferably a woman. I already served for three terms. When or loss, I will run for congresswoman, said Liberiaga.
