Construction worker escapes death as angry pals of 'textmate' engage in shooting spree
A 22 year-old construction worker reported to Police Precinct 3 in Jaro a straffing incident that nearly got him and other workers in a construction site inside LJ Ledesma Subdivision.
Rogen Villanueva, native of Pontevedra, Capiz told probers how he and fellow workers managed to hide as some seven male suspects on board an L200 pick-up truck open fired at them.
Responding police managed to round up the suspects later identified as 23 year-old Joven Servando, Felipe Pagalauan, 35 year-old Michael Apruebo of Timawa, Molo, 18 year-old Rene Salcedo Jr., Bryan Yee, Erwin Tanilla, 26 year-old and John Mark Salcedo of Kasing-Kasing, Molo.
Radio accounts disclosed that the alleged shooting was triggered by text messages sent by the construction worker to one of the suspect's niece, a nursing student who was reportedly irked by the unwelcomed text.
