BIR-WV's June collection 30% higher
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Western Visayas was able to collect P8.5 million in taxes for the month of June this year, a thirty percent increase from the previous year's collection of the same period.
This was learned from newly installed BIR Regional Director Mama B. Marzoc during a visit to the City Mayor's Office the other day.
Marzoc disclosed however that the bureau, under his leadership, wanted to improve more on their collection as they were given by the central office a higher collection target of P4.8 billion.
He attributed the increase in the June collection to the intensified efforts of the bureau in accordance with the policies of the national office.
In visiting Mayor Jerry Treñas, Marzoc was accompanied by Simplicio Madulara, BIR OIC assistant regional director and his wife Consuelo, who is an Ilongga.
