USA to host Ukraine theater workshop

The University of San Agustin through the USA Center for Culture and the Arts and the USA Little Theater in cooperation with the City Government of Iloilo and the Iloilo City Cultural Heritage Conservation Council will host a theater workshop to be conducted by the Karpenko Kary Kyiv National University for Theater, Cinema and Television of Kiev, Ukraine on May 18 to 19, 2006 at the USA Conference Room.

Free computer literacy training for teachers

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) District V-Mandurriao, Department of Education, Division of Iloilo City in cooperation with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST), and Microsoft Philippines (Microsoft Partners in Learning) conducted the Microsoft Office XP Specialist (MOS) Computer Literacy Training last April 24-28, 2006 for the first batch and May 2-6, 2006 for the second batch.

May 6, 2006 marks the birth of the Tamasak Festival at Casa Fiammetta in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. The name Tamasak was derived from the legendary horse hero of Barotacnons. This summer festival which hopes to become a yearly event is a brainchild of Casa Fiammetta's Mr. Nonel Gemora.

Rising from the ashes, the Comedia goes mainstream in Antique

San Jose, Antique -- Much like Aldus Dumbledore's phoenix in the popular Harry Potter series, the Comedia rises from the ashes and is born again. Resurrected from a half-forgotten culture, this centuries old theater form went mainstream via a four-day "Komedya festival" staged by the Province of Antique during its month-long Binirayan festival in April.
