DAR pours P2M worth of infra projects in Badiangan
The Municipality Badiangan, Iloilo has the reason to celebrate as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) poured out P2 million total worth of infrastructure projects in its five barangays this year.
These projects were turned-over yesterday to beneficiaries/recipient barangays in a ceremony held at Brgy. Tina, Badiangan, Iloilo.
The projects, which is locally funded by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) includes: Rehabilitation of 1.20 kilometers Manaolan-Sitio Baong Farm to Market Road located in Brgys. Manaolan and Agusipan worth P500,000; Rehabilitation of 1.200 kilometers Sariri-Latauan Road in Brgys. Sariri and Latuan, P700,000; Rehabilitation of 1.20 kilometers Sitio Puro Maris-Tina Farm to Market Road in Brgy. Tina, P500,000; Expansion/Rehabilitation of 240 sq.m. Sitio Puro Maris Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement also in Brgy. Tina, P100,000; and Construction of 450 sq. m. Cabangaan Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement in Brgy. Cabangaan, P200,000.
A certificate of Appreciation was extended to the heirs of Francisco Escuadra who donated the lot for Sitio Puro Maris Multi-Purpose Drying Pavement.
Badiangan Mayor Suzette Mamon was very thankful to have these projects materialized in her municipality through the assistance of people whom she said worth mentioning like former Department of Land Reform Secretary Rene C. Villa, Rep. Arthur D. Defensor (Iloilo, 3rd District) and DAR Regional Director Alexis M. Arsenal, among many others.
She said these projects marked another milestone to help the farmers improve their production/farm input by giving them improved facilities and the providing them with integrated development services.
Mamon said these accessible roads are also meant to bring the people closer to the municipality with ease and comfort of travel.
She also vowed to the provide the same projects to other qualified barangays in her municipality, however, for those who are not eligible to avail the same, they will look for other alternative to give them other basic services.
The same promises were also extended by Atty. Rene C. Villa and Congressman Defensor to look for means to deliver more projects to the people of Badiangan.
The turn-over ceremony was graced by the presence of Congressman Defensor, Atty. Villa, Board Member Domingo B. Oso, Jr. in behalf of Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr., DAR Director Arsenal, PARO Ricardo Fernandez, PARCOM Chairman Ricardo P. Provido, Jr., Vice Mayor Adrian A. Rendaje, SB Members of Badiangan, Barangay Captains and people coming from recipient barangays.
