Night vendors may go back to their old places--Treñas

Touched by the vendors' woes relative to the city's Night Market Ordinance, Mayor Jerry Treñas has decided to give them the option to go back to their old places or remain at the Night Market area in Muelle Loney Street.

University lawyer urges dismissed workers to voluntarily vacate strike area

University of San Agustin (USA) legal counsel Atty. Sabino Padilla III urged the striking officers of the University of San Agustin Employees Union-FFW (USAEU-FFW) to voluntary clear the strike area in front of the campus in respect to the Supreme Court (SC) decision upholding the earlier ruling of the Court of Appeals.

Treñas doesn't want airport incident repeated

Iloilo City -- City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas on Tuesday met with representatives from the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Air Transportation Office (ATO) to ensure that a tension similar to what happened Friday afternoon at the Iloilo Mandurriao Airport would not be repeated.

Bantay Dagat nabs 6 illegal fishing vessels in Batad

Iloilo -- In it's continuing fight against illegal activities in the province, the Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force in Binon-an, Batad has apprehended last week six illegal fishing vessels in territorial waters of the Municipalities of Concepcion and Batad.

West Visayas LGUs set up material recovery facility

San Jose, Antique -- Three Local Government Units in Antique (LGU) set up Material Recovery Facilities in support to the Solid Waste Management Program. These are the municipalities of Pandan and Anini-y, which are strategically located in northern and southern portion of the province respectively. San Jose, the capital town has its own MRF located at the Trade Town.
