Prisoners spend their remaining days at the century-old Iloilo Rehabilitation Center (IRC) situated at the back of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol Building. It is expected that by the end of this month the new jail facility located in Brgy. Nanga, Pototan could already accommodate the nearly 700 inmates now confined in the cramped quarters of the old jail.

Subpoena vs. Tan brods out, confirms lawyer

The lawyer of Archie and John Michael Tan confirmed on Saturday that the City Prosecution Office (CPO) has sent a subpoena for her two clients in relation to the double murder and parricide complaints filed against them by the 6th Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for the death of their father Bobby, his wife Cindy and daughter Catherine.

Iron-fortified rice unloaded in Iloilo port

At least 5,800 metric tons or about 116,000 sacks of iron-fortified rice are currently being unloaded by MV My Hung in the port of Iloilo according to the National Food Authority. This represents the first batch of rice imported by the National Food Authority from Vietnam.

Marquez Lim mansion undergoes renovation

The Marquez Lim family ancestral home is now being restored. It will be converted into a venue for wedding, birthday and debut celebrations. It is located at Mapa Street, City Proper near Sta. Maria Catholic Church.

U.S. Marine gun expert in town

James M. Brandt, former U.S. Marine captain and an expert 45 caliber pistol shooter is in town. In 1972, he was the champion in a United Nations shooting competition. As a guest of Rev.
