Iloilo Sports Complex development underway

The Economic Enterprise Office headed by Mr. Francisco "Bombit" Heler, Jr. has formulated a strategic plan for the development of the Iloilo Sports Complex in Brgy. Magsaysay, La Paz, Iloilo City.
The development, to be implemented starting next year, include the construction of state-of-the-art Badminton Center, Construction of 109 Linear Meter Over Pass from the Covered Gym to the Iloilo Sports Complex for the security of gym users, improvement of sports facilities and amenities, among others.
Heler also envisioned making Iloilo Sports Complex as a center on sports capability building to facilitate and enhance the skills of coaches and on sports medicine and clinic.
He added Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. has also approved the plan to buy shuttle bus which will be used for private tours through networking with travel and tours and restaurant in the city as part of the office's income/self-liquidating project.
Heler said the Iloilo Sports Complex Hostel with two big rooms and eight rooms are open for those who find comfort of home away from home in very affordable price.
As a come one for hostel occupants, they are free to use ISC amenities such as the swimming pool, badminton court, basketball court, lawn tennis court, etc, he added.
Heler said he never stops from thinking about the programs and projects with are self-sustaining and self-liquidating against traditional allotment like Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) and real property taxes.
Aside from these projects, his office is setting up Gallery for Ilonggo Achievers who excelled in various sports discipline in during the past t and present. Palarong Pambansa, Southeast Asian Games and Olympic Games.
He said cash incentives amounting to P52,000 were already given to athletes who won medals in 2003 SEA Games.
Heler, a sportsman himself, is willing to give honor to Ilonggo athletes who excelled in international sports events which is also being supported by Governor Tupas. (Capitol News)
