Cop kills woman in rage
Iloilo -- A 46 year-old woman was hacked and shot in the head to death by a top police officer based in Passi City, Iloilo over what initial reports said was a case of rage killing.
Authorities identified the suspect as Senior Police Officer 3 (SPO3) Arnulfo Sumagaysay, his victim, Susie Defensor. Shocked residents failed to rescue the woman in the initial attack when hacked by the alleged suspect-cop. Apparently still at the height of his rage, neighbors then heard a shot and minutes thereafter, saw the bloodied Defensor on the ground.
In an interview over Bombo Radyo,Virgie Salaspe, longtime friend of the victim said they had no inkling such tragedy will occur. The victim was last seen busy preparing for the Christmas party set on December 29th. It was not immediately known what caused the bout between her and the suspect that led to the violent killing.
Efforts are underway to effect a surrender as police investigation continue to establish the fact surrounding the incident. SPO3 Sumagaysay fled the crime scene and was not seen in the area anymore.
Meanwhile in yet another killing, a 21 year-old resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao District, Iloilo City succumbed to a single gun shot wound when shot at close range by a disgruntled pal.
The duo was seen by residents walking aimlessly along Sitio Malipayon of said barangay when an argument ensued. The victim was identified by authorities as Ian Bacuyani while the suspect who remains subject of police manhunt was tagged as a certain "Junjun."
