Capitol awards 6 outstanding BSPOs today
Iloilo City -- The Iloilo Provincial Government will award six outstanding Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs) coming the province's five districts and a component city of Passi during the BSPO Day 2005 to be held today at the Iloilo Sports Complex, Magsaysay Village, La Paz, Iloilo City.
Named outstanding BSPOs are Genoveva F. Guevarra, Trapeche, Oton (1st District); Teresita R. Billena, Hibao-an, Pavia (2nd District); Villaros L. Solania, Pacatin, Cabatuan (3rd District); Cecilia Caybay, Dalusan, Dumangas (4th District); Purificacion V. Santoyo, Bacjawan Norte, Concepcion (5th District); and Simeona P. Pamposa, Brgy. Bato, Passi City.
Each will receive P1,000 cash and a certificate of recognition.
This award is in recognition of their countless contributions in upholding the population programs as well as the barangay development and planning activities of the province of Iloilo.
Lately, Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. has issued an Executive Order No. 260 'Deputizing BSPOs as project monitors of the provincial government initiated and funded projects in the province of Iloilo.'
Meanwhile, Provincial Population Officer Godofredo P. Cubil said today's event, which is being held every year, is expected to gather 2,000 plus BSPOs from all over the province.
He said each will receive certificate of appreciation, BSPO ID and PhilHealth cards from Govenor Tupas and Popcom Director Vicente N. Molejona.
Also part of today's program will be the Hataw, Hinampang, Inspirational Message of the governor and raffle of door prizes.
To date, a total of 2,148 BSPOs are now serving the province of Iloilo.
