God still loves our country

I share the sentiments of the majority of the Ilonggos and Filipino people for that matter that Pres. GMA has finally overcome the destabilization threats from the leftist groups determined to skin her alive at all cost. The leftist organizations have connived with former President Cory Aquino, Dinky Soliman, Susan Roces and the opposition composed of the brat packs and a bunch of political has beens. Their union and “love affair” is a classic example of the popular adage that says “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.”

In Iloilo city and province, people are slowly recovering from the trauma wrought by the division of Ilonggo leaders since the impeachment complaint was launched with much fervor and emotion against Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It is now safe to conclude that Pres. Arroyo has passed the biggest test in her leadership with flying colors because those who had plotted to oust her from the Malacañang have slowly backtracked and mellowed down with their tales in their mouths.

But the treachery made by Dinkly Soliman against her former boss is hard to forget. In our culture, what Dinky did to Pres. Arroyo was inconceivable and unforgivable. It betrays the character of the person; her culture and education. She reminded me of some disgraced personalities in the administration of Gov. Niel D. Tupas who started to talk ill of the governor at his back when the governor did not tolerate their abusive manners in running the Capitol affairs. Like Dinky, the former Tupas allies also concocted a litany for sins purportedly committed by the governor and maligned him in the media.

After betraying the person who brought her fame and fortune, Dinky continued to slander the President who has opted to parry the below the belt shots with her golden silence as she did not want to dignify the saber-rattling midget whom Mrs. Arroyo picked from the gutter and made secretary of the social welfare office. After leaving the Capitol, some of Tupas' detractors continued to append all macabre crimes in the name of their former boss and even went to the extent of conniving with Gov. Tupas' political nemesis.

As for Cory and Susan, I have already repeatedly written here that I already lost respect for the two “palengkera.” Cory degraded her status as former president when she endlessly spewed venomous diatribes against President Arroyo, who served as secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the last years of the Cory presidency.
