Do you think the city's curfew ordinance for minors is effectively implemented? Is it necessary? Why?

PAMELA AMARILLO

Yes, because… good for the children!

ELIZA JUNE VERDE-PAGTANAC

Is there a curfew here in the city? Haven't heard!

DR. KRISTIN TREÑAS

I think having a curfew for minors is a relief to most parents – it allows the kids to have fun, but with limitations. A win-win situation, really. I just hope it can be sustained.

JAY CERTEZA

I think it's a good idea. Kids nowadays get into a lot of trouble since selling alcoholic drinks to minors is not being enforced. Maybe this would discipline the youth to stay home and study or help out their parents and not go out, get wasted and play gang bang nigga!

ALBERTO TUZAN

Yes, it could reduce the incidence of crime committed against minors.

EUGENE BORRES-LUCERO

It's about time the city takes a direct hand in disciplining minors if some parents can't do it to their kids. As for the implementation, it was ok last week. I don't know about this week. For some of us parents, we make it a point that we see our kids at home by 7pm.

TINTIN VILLAR-BAYONA

First of all it's not properly implemented, for I have seen a lot of minors on the streets after midnight. For me it is still necessary to have curfew for minors, because of safety purposes. And nowadays, many minors are involved in different crimes that happens after midnight.

PHILIPP MATTHYS

First question to ask is, “how many people know about it?” nest “How many people care about it?” bottomline, the program may not be perfectly implemented, but at least the city is concerned and their intentions are sincere. Next time, they may consider more indepth planning ad make fines worth remembering.

ALFRED BENEDICTO

It's useless, gina exempt ako nila, amo ni ka baby face sa akon!

ALAN SORIANO

I think no, knowing that we have no political will, purotikal will lang. Curfew for minors is necessary because it will ruin their education if not controlled by parents or authorities, they get easily influenced by their peers and get involved in gang fights. This should not be tolerated, it must be stop by implementing curfew for minors.

ELEONOR BERONDO

It is necessary. Streets ain't friendly at night. We don't want those kids galivanting elsewhere. Sadly the implementation would be short-lived just like the anti-smoking ordinance.

RICARDO CAPEROCHO

Yes, it can control and erradicate violence among lawless minors.

JAMES DY

Yes, it is necessary. To keep them out of trouble.

CIRILO CALABIO

Like most policies, this at first was effectively implemented but as it takes off the policy implementation became lax and ultimately the policy ‘diminished'! This can be very evident to the minor's proliferation in bars and city streets late at night. This policy is a good attempt to eradicate minor prostitution and violation. It also promote strong family orientation if the minors stay at home.

ARLENE JUANTONG

No, It has many loopholes. They may as well scrap it. They defeated its purpose.

HERSON CASIDSID

I think it is necessary but not effective, our city jail couldn't accommodate all violators. Maparehas man lang ina sa no smoking and jaywalking ordinances! NINGAS KUGON!

CHRIS FERNANDEZ

Frankly, I don't go out late in the evening. But the implementation according to some friends is “ningas kugon”. I believe in its necessity to lessen crime committed by minors as much as they be victimized. I hope the city government would fearlessly implement all its rules for the city's sake.

MIKE HECHANOVA

I don't think the curfew for minors is necessary because so far Iloilo City is quite peaceful.

MIMI DABAN

Yes, it is well implemented. I've heard it over the radio and seen it in the TV. It is necessary so as to protect them from danger and as well as to keep them away from the influences of drugs, gangs and crimes.

STELLA ARUNGAYAN

I guess so because now I'm obliged to be home by 9pm at the latest!

JOANNE NEAR

I'm sure it won't be implemented that well because it will only be focused on the street children who hangout where they can have no where to go. But the enforcers won't be as strict to those minors who have money and go to some places until dawn because it would be bad to the business to some establishments.

PATTY BORRES-GARCIA

I don't know if it is effectively implemented. But it would be a great relief for us parents that minors be allowed to stay out late only if they are old enough to know and responsible to know their actions.

GOODY ARANCILLO

It's not properly implemented.
