Teener hangs self over lost love

An 18-year old male teener took his life in what appeared was a 'well-planned' suicide execution.

Discovered early Monday morning in an abandoned house up for sale, the victim was identified as Nadel Bayona, native of Barangay Carmen, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

Bayona worked for months as househelp in Barangay Maria Cristina, Jaro, Iloilo City where he apparently fell in love with a fellow house staff identified as a certain Ann Ann. Yet with his love interest's transfer of employment, the duo's relations were cut-off until Sunday afternoon's meeting where Ann Ann reportedly brought along and introduced her latest love.

Reached by Bombo Radyo, Ann Ann clarified that all was platonic between her and the victim and that there was never a romantic affair then and now. Such, amidst disclosure of a suicide note that blamed her for his actions while chiding her to rejoice on his death.

Responding authorities of Police Precinct 3 in Jaro also recovered carefully-laid down personal belongings of the victim among which was his wallet that had pictures of the Bayona family and one shot of him and Ann Ann.

Efforts to revive the male teener proved futile with his death estimated to have been hours since the discovery of the property's caretaker.

Bayona used a nylon cord to hang himself where nearby was spotted two used-cigarette butts and a barely eaten piece of bread. (Florence F. Hibionada)
