Opinion polls

What can you say about Senate President Franklin Drilon's move of joining the call for PGMA's ouster?

MARTIN SORIANO
The leaves have fallen and it signals the change of the season. Soon it will be winter for him.

VON FERNANDEZ
It's PERSONAL INTEREST!

JOHN CASTIGADOR
For me an ounce of loyalty is better than a pound of effeciency!

JANICE GIMENEZ
He did the right thing. I admire him for his courage to stand up to what he believed a cheating president should do.

KATRINA LEDESMA
It may be his decision. I just hope he doesn't force people to back him up. At the same time, it's no longer a democracy if we think that it no longer takes an election to change presidents.

JUN TILLAFLOR
As everyone expects. His move is not surprising anymore as what he did before with previous administrations. Don't know the term “balimbing?”

JESS DIMAFILES
I admire his guts and principles. I believe all Ilonggos should support him.

LOURDES LIM
A person who is balimbing is without dignity. I hope he has the reason why.

JOE ZULUETA
Drilon is a strategist if he doesn't plan ahead he will not have a position as promised by Noli.

ALAN SORIANO
He is courageous enough to stand for the truth and make good decision for the country.

JOEBOY AGRIAM
He was right. I'm with the guy and with all those who says “Tama na Gloria, Sobra na Gloria, Bumaba ka na Gloria.”

BOBOT PAMPOLINA, JR.
Brilliance, fame and loyalty loss in favor of a hidden self interest. Seasoned turned sour grape politician. Sorry, patience isn't one of your best traits.

BARBI BORDA
Drilon did the right move cuz he is thinking of the welfare of the many.

TOOTS JIMENEZ
It's a big dismay that Drilon asked PGMA to resign. Has he proven PGMA's sins? It's good that not all Ilonggo guys in the cabinet. Sana nawala and West Visayas sa political map.

LEONARDO PESTAÑO
“Tayo ang bahala, COUNT ME.”

JUNDY GUECO
Very Vice Presidentiable.

CLEMENTE TAN
GOOD… who will take OVER then is the problem.

CAROLINE JAVELLANA
Drilon is balimbing! Go GMA!

GERRY GUADARRAMA
Hail to Drilon! The case against GMA has gone beyond corruption, jueteng or the tapes. The real issue now is her ability to govern effectively for the next five years. Guilty or not of any of the allegations against her, GMA should voluntarily step down because she has lost the ability to govern effectively.

ARLEEN MERCADO
I think Drilon's call for GMA's ouster was hastily concieved and reeks with ulterior motives and hidden agenda.

CANDY CAMPOS
Senate President Drilon, also Chairman of the Liberal Party MUST HAVE valid reasons not known to millions of Filipinos for calling the ouster of PGMA. After all, former President Cory Aquino also called the resignation of PGMA, because Ex President Fidel Ramos has been running our country not PGMA! Need I say more? Period.

BEBOT DABAN
He is just simply saying, he can't stomach all these corruption in the palace anymore.

HERSON CASIDSID
I think, it would be best if he had done it a week earlier, when PGMA was here. A wise friend (Juwee) once said, “Opinions are like ***holes, everybody has one.”

KATHY VILLALON-CINCO
I never liked Drilon, he's a manipulative man who helps people because he expects something back in the end. But I respect his stand of calling for the President's resignation. Though it's obvious why he did it.

JULIUS JUANITO
Only time will tell if Drilon did the right thing.

COREL LOCSIN-YAP
All I can say is “for a law maker, he sure needs to learn how to follow the law.”

GINA FERNANDEZ
It was a wrong move then, he's no longer credible, he changes his stand in a matter of days. Typical TRAPO!

EMMA NAVA
Political Butterfly!

LEILA CARAM
There is nobody to trust anymore but God… Pls. Bless the Philippines!

STELLA ARUNGAYAN
He is so much in a hurry… He could have waited coz it was going to be served in a silver platter.

LENILYN BASCO
Drilon is an archetypal politician. He is just going with the flow. Maybe he was able to realize that supporting PGMA's presidential bid during the last election was a WRONG MOVE for him… a BIG MISTAKE. Just like other politicians who are loyal to PGMA and now turned their backs to her, he's just trying to save his credibility… to correct that wrong decision in order to regain public trust, which is not too late?

DENNIS GARGANERA
It's high time that somebody from Iloilo, of his stature, takes a stand. He did what he thinks was right and I agree with him.

ERIC SORIANO
Through the years he has learned to play musical chair. Maybe this time he'll be without a seat.

BERD VARGAS
He's loyal to Cory for sure. As senate president, he's 3 rd in line to the president. He's great replacement if GMA and Noli step down.

BORDZ DEGOMA
What senate president have done is a mere showing of how an honorable official should make his decision in times of crisis. I salute him for making a stand in the issue.

ALBERTO TUZAN
It is the Filipino people who are greatly affected with what he did. As Senate President, he should initiate the bringing of their complaints to the proper forum in accordance with our constitution.

BOBBY HARDER
I'm not sure parang nakita ko na si Drilon sa isang episode ni Batman. He looks like a double-faced character nakalaban ni Batman. Haha. Kasi ako si Batgirl. Yun Lang.

FAYE PIANO
I just wish that Drilon have done it because his conscience said it was the right thing to do, not because of his self interest and political ambition…as a respected Ilonggo he should be a role model, someone we should be proud of because we heard him express his full support to GMA during the inauguration of the new bridge two weeks ago. What happened Senator Drilon?

EUGENE JAMERLAN
That is sad; it certainly does not reflect my personal stand on GMA.

ELMA TANENA
Well, he is entitled to his own opinion and decision and whatever his motives are, he will face the consequences. But for me, I think that it's too early to make that kind of decision. “Sayang”. It seems like we Ilonggos are ungrateful people. Despite the favors the present administration has given us. Daw kahuluya lang.

JINKI BELDIA
I am not for GMA, let's just be clear on that. But I fervently hope our (supposedly great) Filipino political thinkers have something more solid than just the audacity to say, “Gloria resign.” A well-thought of plan (of what our government must be made of since s**t has been its coating for the longest time) should be made a prerequisite to any of these activities they take out on the streets. Maybe the ideologies of some of our young highbrows have more weight than the ones made by old cows like my latest pet peeve in the person of Sen. Franklin Drilon. Now, he said he wasn't thinking of his political fortunes when he made his stand. Then why use the midget as a bait now?
