Estafa, falsification raps filed vs ex-solon, wife

A complaint for estafa and falsification of private document were filed against former Iloilo 4 th District Representative Narciso Monfort and his wife Carmencita before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.

Siblings Emelina Doctora-Odtuhan, Marcela Doctora-Bedia and Eustaquia Doctora-Dequito filed the complaint following the discovery of a supposed Deed of Extrajudicial Partition and Sale. The complainants said their signatures were reflected on said document when what they actually signed then was intended for the family's donation of a road right of way.

“In view of our poor understanding on the matter, he (Monfort) requested us to sign a blank piece of paper which we did for him to formalize the document,” excerpts of the joint affidavit-complaint stated on what they labeled as “conspired actions” of the Monfort couple.

Further still, the trio charged seven other P.D. Monfort, Dumangas residents for usurpation of real property/real rights.

“That from that time on in the 1980s to date, by virtue of respondent Monfort's power, influence and intimidation, he claimed ownership to the said lot by virtue of said deed and when said title (TCT No. 1237) was handed over to respondent Monfort for the drafting of a deed of donation of road right of way, payment of the mortgage lien thereof among others they (respondents Monfort and Decampo) had allowed co-respondents Gina Conadera, Jocelyn Dolendo, Enriquita Deblois, Wilma Ceballos and Sylvia Ceballos

to occupy portions of the lot and collecting rentals thereof thus they have deprived us of our use and enjoyment thereof,” the complaint continued.

The complaint is set to be raffled this week with Monfort and other respondents set to be served of the charges thereafter.
