Do you agree with Tourism Secretary Ace Durano's statement that Boracay is in critical condition due to its uncontrolled development? Why?

LEONARD TIROL
Yes but the people of Boracay totally disagree with his statement. The guy is a neophyte and more important, he's from Cebu. In his heart, he will always promote Cebu. As a Secretary of Tourism, he shouldn't issue irresponsible statements about the No. 1 premier destination of the country unless he is grandstanding, instead, he should help solve the problem, if any, SILENTLY. If he can't, he might as well STEP DOWN.

MICHAEL CALING
Development on the island is on critical level. Support services of the back of the house operations haven't caught up with resort expansions. We have enough rules and laws that are in place but is not enforced. Instead of blabbing, Sec. Durano should quitely and firmly enforce the laws or is simply blabbing since Boracay and Bohol has taken the sparkle out of his Cebu as premier tourist attraction?

JED VILLANUEVA
Now that he thinks Boracay is in critical condition, what does the DOT Sec. plans to do to remedy the situation? Our nation needs problem solvers and not problem seekers. God bless our country!

MARTIN SORIANO
Echos! Politicians want a say on the titling issue because pag may bidding, maraming pera. Gina pa gamo nila ang simple nga bagay, oh well dahling but that's life puro chikka kag echos para maka kwarta.

ISA LOVINA
Yes, definitely!

GUS BANUSING
As the Tourism Secretary, he should not have said that. It will create a negative impact in our tourism and in the thriving businesses in Boracay.

CHICHI RIVERA
Yes and it's a pity. Such Beauty!

DR. FREDDIE LOPEZ
Yes. I've heard comments that the waters fronting the white beach is turning into a parking lot for boats!

ATTY. JOSE “Pepe” DEMAISIP
For a tourist destination. It is apalling to visit Boracay in abject condition due to inaction of the government.

BOBOT PAMPOLINA, JR.
As tourism secretary, he must call the attention of local officials of Boracay & solve the problems quickly and quitely.

JULIUS JUANITO
I agree but it should have not been made public while remedies are being carried out silently.

ERIC SORIANO
Durano and Defensor are just sourgraping Boracay ever since……

BO PARCON
Yes. In a way that Boracay is already on the verge of too much commercialism. Although it's a relief to know that there are still some parts of the island that remains private and away from the crowded scene.

DR. SUSAN CONDUCTA
It didn't reach its critical condition yet but will go to that stage if they don't control the development that is going on there now.

ALEXANDER YOUNG
Yes. Boracay's appeal lies in its natural charm. Development in the island should be towards preserving what is left of its natural beauty and not the construction of more facilities for tourists.

DR. CESAR UY
Sewage disposal is the number 1 problem in Boracay. If this is not given priority now, the island will soon become a dirty place.

EMMA NAVA
YES! The island speaks for itself. God forbid but one day the water level and septic tank outflow will meet and you have typhoid epidemic!

ALLAN TAJANLANGIT
In some parts of the island I would agree but I believe if the people in government tasked to help and promote tourism in the island will set aside politics and their personal agendas and sincerely help and encourage our private sector and investors, Boracay can live up to its billing as the best beach in the world.
