In cases like these, there is only the quick and the dead

Renato 'Natong' Parillon of Zone Four, Brgy. Tacas in Jaro is the quick, and 34-year-old Jovie 'Boy' Trabuco of Zone 3 of the same barangay is the dead. Both are tricycle drivers plying Brgy. Tacas.

Parillon said over Bombo Radyo Iloilo that he shot Trabuco in the face at close range Tuesday morning at the terminal because the latter allegedly wanted to kill him.Trabuco never made it to the hospital alive.

Unahan ko na lang siya (I decided to kill him before he kills me),” he said, adding that he got rid of the weapon he used while making his escape. Parillon later surrendered to the police.

Police investigation revealed that the two had an altercation two days before Tuesday's fatal incident.

Parillon momentarily stopped plying his tricycle for two days after the altercation until he reappeared in the tricycle parking area in Barangay Quintin Salas of said district.

After shooting Trabuco once, Parillon headed to nearby Alta Tierra Village where witnesses saw him escape on board an red owner type jeepney.

He will remain in police custody pending the charges set to be filed by authorities.
