New Task Group Waterfront intensifies operation


Task Group Waterfront has intensified its operations against criminality, illegal drugs, wanted persons and other forms of lawlessness upon the assumption of Chief Supt. Doroteo A. Reyes II as Regional Director of Police Regional Office 6.

Last May 10, 2005, elements of Task Group Waterfront under the able leadership of Senior Insp. Ramir Gallardo, conducted search and seizure operations at the residence of suspect Lourdes Zamora y Baylon, 47 years old, married and a resident of Brgy Sta. Monica, Iloilo City by virtue of a Search Warrant Nr 05-01 issued by Hon Judge Ma Elena G Opinion, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 27 on May 9, 2005.

The operation yielded four sachets of methamphitamine hydrochloride (shabu), one improvised totter, five disposable lighters, aluminum foil, and other drug paraphernalia. Likewise, Lourdes Zamora y Baylon, owner of the residence and subject of search was arrested.

Moreover, on April 12 Arsenio Gadian y Gallo alias Dan-dan was arrested by elements of Task Group Waterfront for violation of Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002 by virtue of Search Warrant Nr 05-03 issued by Hon Judge Rene S Hortillo of RTC Branch 31. Recovered from the search were four sachets of suspected shabu, twenty pieces of empty plastic sachets containing shabu residue, tooters and other drug paraphernalia.

On April 2, Dick Jison y Salado, Leo Platigue y Calambo, Philip Habagat y Platigue and Andrew Hilay y Malapit were arrested while having drug session at the residence of Pido family located at Brgy Veterans Village, Iloilo City.

Case of violation of RA 9165 was filed in court against the arrested suspects who are presently detained at BJMP.

On campaign against wanted persons, Task Group Waterfront arrested Jerry Cantolina y Miraflores for the crime of Grave Oral Defamation and Gary Francisco y Lazarte for the crime of Murder in CC Nr 38262 in two separate occasions.

Task Group Waterfront in coordination with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has apprehended M/L Aimee Joy, a vessel, which led to the seizure of more or less 25,000 board feet of undocumented sawn lumber with an estimated value of more or less P100,000.00.
