When the crook croaks

When someone croaks like a crook, walks like a crook, and behaves like a crook, then he must be a crook.

Guided with this premise I find it easier to discern the character of one reporter from a local radio network notorious in spreading lies and distorting facts since its existence. The incredible background and sullied credibility of this reporter, surprisingly becomes his passport to boast his image as a certified “barker” in the broadcast industry. He has no qualms exposing his greed for money if the price is right. The litany of politicians he allegedly serves in the recent elections for the love of their pockets confirms why he is in the barking mission. The greater the sounds of silvers his eardrums could absorb, the louder he barks endlessly with gusto like a mad bitch deprived to f*** its kind.

Ever wondered why most of his peers had joined the world of “beyond-beyond” ahead of him and forever kept their mouths shut as a result for selling their souls to the highest bidders? Simply because they all have one thing in common--their big mouths with a roach size brains.

Never in my wildest dreams do I long for fame not until this same reporter called me names and made an instant celebrity out of me.

He hates my guts giving unsolicited advice to his manager on how to go about requesting public documents.

When his manager and I accidentally bumped each other outside Iloilo Supermarket Gen. Luna Branch weeks before the Lent, it was in good faith when I suggested to him to cite their reasons for asking the documents and to be more specific with what they are asking for. Though public documents are open to anyone for scrutiny, a process in obtaining this is to should be observed. We just cannot give it to any pretending Tom, Dick, and Harry in a snap of a finger, as if it is a piece of garbage ready for immediate disposal at any given time.

Another thing to consider is the person asking for a document must also possess a proper bearing. What if a legal dispute arises as a result of the request, who would take the responsibility? A mere radio talent who is just blindly following orders from his employer can't say no, lest they will be confronted of insubordination.

Hence, when I suggested for their establishment or its owner to certify in writing their reasons for the documents, it was done without of malice. Why persecute me for such action? We have nothing to hide. All the records in the General Services Office (GSO) under our care are properly kept intact for a certain period depending on its significance, while the rest are already in the archives. So what crime did I commit to deserve such curse?

It was a plain unsolicited advice and he may reject it outright if he wants to. After all nobody is beholden to me. So, what's the big deal making a mountain out of this mole hill?

There are countless issues they can tackle because of their social relevance beneficial to the listening public. Yet they prefer to tinker with something of commercial value and financially rewarding to their pockets.

Definitely, humiliating Gov. Niel D. Tupas without apparent reason shouldn't have been one of them. It is in bad taste no matter how one would assess it.

If by attacking me they thought they would make me shudder in fear, well I'm awfully sorry, for you are barking at the wrong tree. This is the game you love to play, so be it. Nobody is surprised anymore. You have the microphone, I have the pen. You can shout to the whole world, the hell I care.

Meanwhile, all I can say is, croak, croak, croak, crook, crook, crook!!!
